Spring Suspension System
The Right Weigh spring suspension load sensor for our Exterior Digital Scale is designed to measure the on-the-ground weight of spring suspension trailers.
Axle Load Sensor
The precision sensor attached to the center of the axle detects the strain in the axle. This strain is then measured and converted to pounds or kilograms by the Right Weigh digital scale system.

How It Works
The trailer weight puts strain on the axle because the load is coming straight down on the springs and an equally opposite force is coming up through the tires. This strain on the axle is then measured by the precision sensors and converted to pounds or kilograms by the Right Weigh digital scale system using the calibration information entered by the user during initial setup.

GUIDELINES FOR CONFIGURATION
-
The spring suspension sensor can only be used to monitor the weight for trailers
-
Compatible with most axle diameters and shapes
-
Each axle in the axle group must have one sensor installed
-
Only one digital scale is necessary to read all the sensors per axle group

INSTALLATION
![spring_installation_v4-01-copy-1920x986 spring_installation_v4-01-copy-1920x986](https://rwls.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/spring_installation_v4-01-copy-1920x986-1.png)
The Right Weigh spring suspension sensor must be installed while the axle group is empty and attached to the top center of the axle. There must be at least 9 inches (230 mm) of open space between the brake chamber brackets.
1
Find the centerline of the top of the axle.
2
Weld the sensor to the axle.
3
Secure the cover.
4
Route and connect the sensor and power wires.
WEIGHING CONDITIONS
The accuracy of the scale is dependent on the mechanical repeatability of your leaf-spring suspension as well as the ground surface conditions. Follow these weighing guidelines to optimize the accuracy of the scale readings within 1-4%.
